10. Brugge, Belgium

Brugge is a small town in the northern part of Belgium. It is It is one of the best-preserved cities in all of Europe and offers a charm that is rare to find these days. In fact, Hipsiti user Emma says “Brugge is one of the most romantic cities I have ever visited. Visited in August when the Daffodils were all out. Stunning place to see.” The most popular attraction is Belfry & Halle – an 83 metre high belfry with a carillon of 47 bells. This bell tower is considered one of the finest bell towers in Belgium and dates back to 1248 when it was first constructed. If you’re up for an adventure, you can climb 366 steps to the top of the tower for an incredible view of Brugge.

9. Mumbai, India

Mumbai is considered the heart of India and is, therefore, a place to experience India for what it truly is. The most popular aspects of this exotic city are within the culture; so you’ll be experiencing delicious food, friendly people, and historical sights. Mumbai’s most popular attraction is the Gateway of India, a monument constructed in 1924 to commemorate the visit of King George and Queen Mary to the city. This attraction is also the iconic destination where the last of the British troops departed, marking the end of the British rule and India’s Independence in 1947.

8. Davao, Philippines

One of the key highlights of this city is its uniqueness as an off the radar destination with so much natural beauty, including the magnificent Mount Apo. Additionally, there are always friendly people who are always willing to help you throughout your travels. Most importantly, safety is the main priority in this city so you can have peace of mind while traveling – our Hipsiti users have rated it an 8.1/10 for safety. Eden Nature Park is a must-see when visiting Davao. Some say this landmark is one of the most iconic natural parks in the Philippines and possibly the world!

7. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The capital of Vietnam will provide you with an experience like no other city in the world. Hipsiti community member Nas says it’s a “Wonderful experience and great food especially the BBQ at night on the streets. Lots of cafe[s] with great coffee. Fruits on the streets are very cheap to buy and so fresh!” The Cao Dai Temple near Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most unique temples in the world as it is not dedicated to one religion, but many religions. Caodaists believe that all religions have very similar beliefs and so Buddha, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, and Confucius, in addition to Joan of Arc and Julius Caesar are all honoured at this temple.

6. Bangkok, Thailand

This city is well known around the world as a party destination but Hipsiti members rate this city as suitable for not only party-goers but also couples and families. This may be due to the array of attractions this city has to offer, with something to see virtually on every corner. The Grand Palace is the most famous attraction and a visit to Bangkok would not be complete without it. This palace was built in 1782 and was home to Thai Kings for 150 years! The palace has magnificent architecture with intricate detail throughout. The Grand Palace is cherished to this day and is seen as the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.

5. Prague, Czech Republic

Prague is the most famous city in the Czech Republic and for a good reason! One of our members, Tammy says Prague is “one of the most beautiful cities in Europe – definitely home to the most beautiful bridge! Great hospitality beer halls – jazz bars – amazing architecture and history”. The city’s most popular attraction by far is Prague Castle. Located on Vltava river’s left bank, Prague Castle looks like something out of a fairytale and holds some of the Czech Republic’s greatest artistic and cultural treasures. A must see when visiting Prague.

4. Kathmandu, Nepal

Kathmandu is a bustling city full of unique sights, sounds and smells that will assure you that you’re away from home. Definitely, a destination for the adventurer as it’s equal parts exhilarating and exhausting with so much to see and do! The Garden of Dreams is the one exception to this busy city, providing a sanctuary to all visitors. “Kathmandu is a little slice of bustling paradise. It’s gritty and glorious, nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. Momos are delicious. Monkey [T]emple is great! Buy cashmere jumpers by the cartload. 3. Budapest, Hungary

Budapest has no shortage of things to see; from the largest thermal water system in the world, with over 80 hot springs, to the first underground railroad on the continent and more. It’s also said to be a great detox destination, Hipsiti user Sarah loved the “Baths and spas for health and relaxation”. An outstanding attraction in Budapest is Buda Castle. This incredible World Heritage Site is so large it is easily visible from all over in Budapest! Make sure to book out a whole day to explore this beautiful city as it’s filled with many historic monuments, museums, and iconic cafes.

2. Zagreb, Croatia

Zagreb has all the elements you want in a holiday – culture, arts, music, architecture, gastronomy and more. The city has recently been discovered by tourists all over the world and is becoming a very popular holiday destination. A Hipsiti member, Benji stayed in Zagreb and describes it as “[i]nland from the popular resort towns of Split and Dubrovnik but worth a trek to visit the capital. Saw a terrific opera. A buzzy city.” Did you know the Croatian National Theatre is also located in the heart of Zagreb? If you’ve always thought about seeing the opera but never had a chance, this is one of the most outstanding and affordable places to experience opera in the world. In Zagreb now or visiting soon? Visiting Cebu in the Philippines is an experience of modern energy and rich culture combined! There is plenty to do in Cebu with white sandy beaches and out of this world diving experiences. Hipsiti member Elle visited Sumilon Island, “[a] gorgeous tropical island in the Philippines and beautiful spot to visit in southern Cebu”. One of the most popular and affordable activities you can do while in Cebu is swimming with whale sharks. Once you’re done sightseeing you will find plenty of bars, clubs, an array of restaurants on every corner. This city has everything a traveler seeks in a fulfilling trip, which is why it has taken the top spot for Hipsiti’s most affordable destinations with amazing attractions!
