Be sure to barter with the tuk-tuk drivers. Hold your belongings close as bag snatching is prevalent. Such a difference between the upper and lower class which is confronting to see. Many children try and sell you items and will continue to pester you until you buy something.

Unexpected beauty and friendliness in an often misunderstood place of tragic history. Don't be afraid to dig your heels in. People are often scared of Asian Street food, but you can usually tell where it's safe to eat, and it's worth it. Street food can be divine. Don't hire motorcycles unless you have an Australian motorcycle license. It's a cheap destination but medical is expensive and insurance won't cover motorcycles unless you already hold a licence in your country of residence. Don't be afriad to ask locals for help. A surprising number of Cambodian do speak English.
